Happy Birthday – 100 - June 2022 is Criccieth’s Memorial Hall’s 100th birthday
The birth of the War Memorial Hall was instigated by Prime Minister David Lloyd George, as a tribute to those who fell in the ‘War to end all wars’ to be built by public subscription and to be have value to the town of Criccieth
The Memorial Hall has held commemorations, celebrations, weddings, funerals, dances, discos, meetings, exhibitions, male strippers, martial arts, religious services, bingo, whist drive, attic sales, am-dram, pro-dram, choirs, opera, musicals and too many other thigs to list, as well as being at the cultural and geographical heart of the town
Wales Journey Through the World Cup
We are pleased to open the Memorial Hall as an Official Fanzone as part of the Gwyl Cymru Festival. Not only will all the Wales matches be screened on a large cinema screen, but we welcome ex Welsh International Footballer Ian Edwards to chat to ex WBA Footballer Joe Mayo before the Wales v England match. There will be a Q&A at half time. All of the key matches will be screened, the final being played on 18th December.
These are free events, open to all. Families are most welcome. The bar will be open and hot and cold food available to purchase at reasonable prices. Come and join us to shout and sing Yma O Hyd.
